WHO IS THE NEXT IMO GOVERNOR phase V. By: Obinna Nwoko PhD.
The rise and fall of any organization, state, nation, etc. are predicated on leadership. There are so many persons out there who are leaders with burden to revolutionize the system for a better output. Let’s go down the history lane.
There was a time Russia was rated as one of the poorest nation of the world. The collapse of the Soviet Union was a major geopolitical disaster of the century. As for the Russian nation, it became a genuine drama. When Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin assumed office, he took the bull by the horn, faced the work at hand. The Russian economy and standard of living grew rapidly during the early period of Putin’s regime. A leader does not lead with excuses, it’s only a ruler that does that!
The revolution of China was neither by the gods, nor by the aliens. China was also one of the poorest nations of the world. The then leader Deng Xiaoping quickly instituted new economic policies opening China to international trade and investment. This led to reconstruction and openness.
Deng stressed the primacy of agricultural output and encouraged a significant decentralization of decision making in the rural economy teams and individual peasant households. At the local level, material incentives, rather than political appeals, were to be used to motivate the labor force, including allowing peasants to earn extra income by selling the produce of their private plots at free market. By the mid-1980s, Deng had introduced economic reforms in agriculture and industry, providing for more local management.
Today, China is one of the richest, most powerful nations of the world.
We are about to elect people into position of leadership. It is time to spiritually clear off those political hawks who see the opportunity to serve as a moment to exploit, dehumanize, revenge and take us 100 years behind Y2K civilization. Let us spiritually endorse those who will balance the equation. I have weighed most of these politicians’ manifestos in the balance, and have found so many of them wanting… There are so much to be done in the State and the Nation, yet their manifestos are still empty of good governance. God help us.
